Mastering Opiate Overdoses

Mastering Opiate Overdoses

Have you noticed that everyday on Facebook there is another news article about Narcan and the dangers of fentanyl overdoses?

I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't talk about the major opiate overdose issue. A huge problem with opiate abuse is the person ingesting the drug can never be sure what exactly they are taking.

Not only is it hugely addictive, the withdrawal symptoms can be life threatening.

Luckily there is a drug that can counteract the effects of opiates. That drug is narcan, and lately narcan has been distributed to people outside the medical profession. It is too early to say weather this was a good or bad move, however deemed necessary because of how serious the abuse problem is.

In this video we’ll talk about what an opiate is and how it effects a person. We will also discuss the use of narcan and my experiences with the drug.
